Favorite Word
My favorite word is Pulchritudinous! It means beautiful and it comes from the latin word "pulcher" which also means beautiful. I love this word because pulchritundious certainly does not sound like something beautiful. I also think I love this word because it is one of the few words I remember from 5 years of latin.... Its a nice word...

Serendipity. Serendipity. Serendipity. I remember the first time I heard/read this marvelous piece of vocabulary. Believe it or not, I was having an AIM conversation with one of my very close friends who used to live across the country. I "knew" him through another close friend who had moved to his home state and become friends with him. We started "talking" through AIM by complete serendipity, actually. He just started rambling to me while signed in as my friend one day, and from that momen on, we tended to have deep philosophical conversations about politics, economics, love, etc.
He used the word in an AIM conversation with me once, and I just had to look it up IMMEDIATELY! I could not wait to use that word in a sentence. I was practically bursting with excitement to find out what it meant (yeah, I am kind of a dork about good vocab).
He said to me, "It would be complete serendipity if we were to meet one day." And it turns out that I ended up running in to a few years later when he moved to Massachusetts. He was at the same softball game I was playing in. He recognized me, because he had seen a photo of me in my friend's house all the way in Oregon. CRAZY!
Serendipity is universal, and it rolls off the tongue!
