Who was your childhood hero and why? Is this individual still your hero? If not, who do you wish to follow in the footsteps of now, and why?

good one, megan, even allowing for my suspicion of "heroes." i can see and name those people in my past and i can see and name those in the present.

There is one show I would not miss as a kid and that show was "The Power Rangers." I idolized the Pink Ranger. She got to wear a cool costume, and to me, she was the epitome of good in a world full of evil. However, I eventually realized that she was such a damsel in distress. She was the ranger that was always in trouble. She rarely ever did anything on her own. It got to be annoying, so I gave up on her!
Surprisingly, one of my heroes these days is my dog, Brandi. She represents all that is good in a world that can be so good to us. She's such a gift. Brandi is so happy all the time. She is happy when she's sick. She is happy when she poops on the rug and we have to yell at her. She is even happy when we forget to give her her treats. She's still there, tail-wagging and excited to be alive. I feel like we should all take a page out of dogs' books sometimes.
